Community Service Fair

Community Service Fair brings Nonprofits to Fresno State

The Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning will present the 18th Annual “Community Service Opportunities Fair” Wednesday, September 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the grass area in front of the Kennel Bookstore. The event is designed to provide students, staff, and faculty with an opportunity to gain information on dozens of nonprofit organizations and hundreds of community service-learning opportunities.

Over 70 agencies will be present to share information about volunteer opportunities in our community. In the past, students have been able to personally “shop” the nonprofits for volunteer opportunities to fulfill service-learning requirements. Staff members are being encouraged to participate to learn about ways they too can be give back to the community.

Involvement in volunteer and community service-learning activities can provide substantial personal, professional, and academic growth. Benefits include increased college retention rates, greater career and major satisfaction, improved self-esteem, increased value for civic engagement and much, much more.

Complimentary ice cream will be served at about noon. Come enjoy a tasty treat and learn about ways you can help in your community.

Warm Regards,
Renee Delport, Special Events and Projects Coordinator
and
Trisha Studt, Community Partnerships Coordinator
