“Honoring the Japanese American Experience in the San Joaquin Valley”
Dr. Satsuki Ina, Award-winning film producer of “Children of the Camps” and “From a Silk Cocoon” documenting the Japanese American experience during World War II
Deborah J. Ikeda, Vice President of Instruction and Student Services State Center Community College District North Centers
Local Japanese American Internees, Will share their personal stories and experiences during the war
An exhibit on the Japanese American experience here in the San Joaquin Valley will also be available for viewing.
This symposium is co-sponsored by the Special Collections Research Center at the Henry Madden Library and the Central Valley Cultural Heritage Institute and is part of the “Leading with Diverse Voices” conference during Diversity Awareness Week April 26-May 1, 2010. Funded by a Fresno Regional Foundation Arts and Culture grant.

* Learn skills, resources, and information to help you better serve the LGBT+ community
* Hear a panel of LGBT+ students share their experiences
* Receive a disc with a 46 page training manual and resource guide
