A Day in the Library
“A DAY IN THE LIBRARY”
“What’s more American than Vintage Days, Libraries, and Baseball?” ask The Friends of the Madden Library at their Saturday, April 17, Library Open House. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is invited!
Tours of the Library’s new building will be offered and experts will talk about their favorite subjects, ranging from railroads to local Native American basketry. The speakers will be stationed around the Library and guests will circulate to hear the presentations on subjects that represent highlights of our collection.
There also will be talks on World’s Fairs, Western Americana, the Civil War, the Library’s Wizard of Oz exhibition, our fabulous Music & Media collections, and baseball.
This event is timed to coincide with a doubleheader baseball game pitting our Bulldogs vs. Louisiana Tech. The first 100 people into the Library Open House will receive a free ticket to the game. Refreshments will feature ballpark favorites: hotdogs, popcorn, peanuts, and Cracker Jack®.
Join us for this fun field trip to explore the treasure in our own backyard!
Continuous programming throughout the event.
