Accessible Technology vs Copyright Law

Description:
Two things a state university must guarantee in its use of technology are these: (1) protect the rights of copyright owners; (2) provide alternative, accessible versions of instructional material to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Unfortunately, these two principles are frequently incompatible. With a focus on accessible technology we will discuss the possible cacophony of laws related to these guarantees.
