Fresno State's 90.7 KFSR radio presents Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion, LIVE in HD" in a special cinecast at the River Park cinemas in Fresno, on Thursday February 4th at 8:00 PM. The show will be broadcast to over over 500 theatres nationwide, direct from the stage of the Fitzgerald Theatre in St. Paul, MN, featuring special guests including Elvis Costello. The nation's most popular public radio entertainment program, A Prairie Home Companion has been delighting audiences for 36 years on radio stations such as 90.7 KFSR, with tales of Lake Wobegon, Guy Noir Private Eye, The Lives of the Cowboys and more. The program was also the subject of Robert Altman's 2006 motion picture "A Prairie Home Companion." This live HD cinecast is the first in the history of the show, and is a rare chance to SEE the legendary
humor, storytelling, and music of A Prairie Home Companion just as the
audience does in St. Paul.

"A Prairie Home Companion, LIVE in HD" will feature guest appearances by
English singer-songwriter Elvis Costello, sibling vocal powerhouses Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele, songstress Heather Masse, and the finest folk duo around, Robin and Linda Williams. Also on the show will be The Royal Academy of Radio Actors; Sue Scott and Tim Russell, with both Tom Keith AND Fred Newman creating sound effects mayhem. All this, plus a punched-up Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, and of course, The News from Lake Wobegon. Two hours of non-stop fun (well, there'll be a brief intermission) on the big screen.

The two hour long show begins promptly at 8:00 PM, but guests who arrive
early will be treated to a special behind the scenes "warmup" broadcast with live footage from backstage at The Fitzgerald Theatre, starting at approx 7:30 PM. This is one event you won't want to miss. In addition to the Thursday February 4th event, there will also be an encore rebroadcast of the show Tuesday February 9th at 8:00 PM, also at the River Park cinemas.
